Fraser Lake gets its history from the McRae family who, in the early 1900's farmed the land extensively around Lost river and Harrington.  Fraser Lake also established the outcome of The Lost river, the rock around the lake is very porous and water empties out between those perticular rocks and the end of the lake, hence the name lost.  The area at the end of this lake is called the black hole by the locals.
